This major study involved the development of a management plan for all of Victoria’s Trams and Tram related Heritage in both Melbourne and the key regional centres of Ballarat and Bendigo. A key outcome of the study was a statement of significance that gives credence and a rigorous set of evaluation criteria which will enable the development the State Heritage Fleet and Collections.

The study looked at all aspects of the Tramways; technology, tramcars, heritage items, collections maintenance, operations and future use.

Additionally the study developed a set of options for the management and future use of heritage trams, equipment, system architecture and technical equipment as well as related objects and ephemera.
