Jewish Care Heritage and Art Consultancy

Client: Jewish Care

Location: Windsor & Carnegie, VIC

Completed: 2021

Convergence was engaged to provide heritage interpretation and art consultation for Jewish Care, a contemporary social welfare organisation. The organisation, which has provided accommodation and support for Victorian Jews since the mid 19th century, has recently undertaken a major building program.

Convergence developed and implemented an interpretation and art strategy which has been rolled out across two sites. The strategy included the identification and purchase of art works for public places and residences, integration of interpretation within the facilities and negotiation of ongoing loan relationships between Jewish Care, the Jewish Museum of Australia and well known artist Victor Majzner.

Interpretation of the organisation’s history and significance within the community was researched, documented and effected.
