Australian Grasslands Journey Interpretation Plan

Client: Zoos Victoria

Location: Werribee, Vic

Completed: 2014

Artists’ impressions: Chris Storey

After development of an initial concept plan for the Australian Grasslands Journey at Werribee Open Range Zoo Convergence focussed on details for a children’s interpretative and play area, a grasslands education experience and nocturnal house for endangered species including the Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Pathways through the precinct are designed to allow very young children (0-4) and primary school aged children to experience wildlife and habitat.

The interpretative plan envisages that the Australian Journey will encompass the unique ecosystems associated with the Werribee region; grassland, woodland and riparian.

Visitors will explore the wonders of these ecosystems through engaging interactive experiences and encounters with wildlife.
