The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation appointed Convergence to design this landmark centre located at Bulli Tops overlooking Wollongong. Convergence chose to adopt a ‘songlines’ approach and the centre is unique in that there is no written text in the centre – all interpretation is oral or visual, delivered as part of an integrated live performance / multimedia presentation.
Combining four key programs, the center realises the dream of five elders of the Illawarra Aboriginal Community to create understanding through the message that “the things that bring us together are stronger than the things that drive us apart”.
