Outback to Ocean Cleland Wildlife Park

Client: Department for Environment and Heritage, SA

Location: Adelaide, SA

Completed: 2005

Convergence, together with ADS Solutions designed, constructed and installed the ‘Outback to Ocean’, interpretation facilities at the Cleland Wildlife Park. The design promotes the conservation of South Australia’s natural and cultural heritage through the development of an intensive interpretation environment.

Exhibits combined the innovative approach of an ‘interactive rail’ which ran between animal enclosures displaying Fat Tailed Dunnarts, Geckos and Woma Pythons, among others. The rail contains a range of interactive exhibits and devices to promote a deeper understanding of the animals on display.

The rail is also integrated into the education programs with “secret” teacher aids built in. Other exhibits include a nocturnal house for displaying Bilbys, multimedia displays of South Australia’s dynamic coastline and the Flinders Ranges.
