Engage. Immerse. Inspire.

Convergence Design is Australia’s most experienced museum development, interpretive planning and exhibition design consultancy. Since 1997 we have had the privilege to work on projects of national significance across Australia and overseas. Our name, Convergence, signifies our distinctive approach. We solve design problems by ‘converging’ a range of techniques to produce engaging experiences based on innovation, sound research and respect for material cultural heritage.

The Convergence team brings a high degree of creativity and breadth of experience to projects of all scale. We cultivate a shared understanding of purpose and strategic direction, allowing us to tailor solutions that our clients can own and manage. We use effective communication and project management techniques to set and meet expectations, and to plan and design engaging and inspiring interpretive environments.

Our work is focused on three distinct but complementary areas:
  • Museum development, strategic planning and briefing
  • Interpretive planning
  • Exhibition and experiential design, development and implementation
Our methodology is based on:
  • Shared understanding of an entire project to build successful outcomes.
  • Identification of requirements of differentiated visitor segments, site and content
  • Creating effective and functional environments through expert understanding of visitor behaviour, experiential design, ergonomics, traditional display and contemporary communication techniques

Director Jenni Klempfner, with the support of founding partner Russell Magee, leads a talented pool of staff and collaborators whose expertise covers the spectrum of museological services. Together we offer a breadth of experience in all aspects of museum development, interpretive planning and exhibition design, gained through working on the development of some of Australia’s most significant museums and galleries.
