Phillip Island and District Historical Society Museum and Exhibition Design

The development of a new cultural and community centre to draw visitors and showcase the history and culture of the Phillip Island area presented an opportunity for reinvigoration of the Phillip Island and District Historical Society.

Convergence was commissioned to work with the Historical Society to develop their new museum. The result uses a mix of traditional display and contemporary media to display the unique story of Phillip Island. Its flexible infrastructure will allow Historical Society members to easily update digital and analogue displays over time.

The museum is an integral part of the new Berninneit Cultural Centre at Cowes which includes a theatre, library, gallery, community function rooms and offices to form a nucleus of community activity.
